Orthodox calendar July 4 The Holy Olympiad from Fărcaşa Saint Olympia was born on September 8, 1880 and lived all her life in the village of Farcașa, in Neamț County. In 1903 she married Ion Tănase, founding a beautiful family, blessed by God with eight children (six girls and two boys): Maria, Glicheria, twins Ioana and Marița, Petru (the future Saint Petroniu), Raveica and Dumitru.

From his youth he practiced the virtue of charity, having strong faith and much piety for the services of the Church, raising his children in the Orthodox Christian spirit. He needed a lot of prayers and made vigils and prayers to Christ the Redeemer, the Mother of God and His saints, having a lot of love, trust and unwavering hope in God's help.

He strictly observed all the fasting days over the year. He knew the Creed, passages from the Holy Scriptures and Psalms, prayers, tropes, hymns from holidays, all learned from church and from reading prayers at home. Raised by the priests of the German monasteries, she constantly thought of God and said all the time: Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner!
